Livelihood and Socio-Economic Support
GLRA India believes in helping individuals live a life of dignity. To achieve this, our livelihood programs focus on generating sustainable livelihoods by aiming at developing life skills of individuals and the communities to empower them in overcoming social, economic and environmental challenges. Additionally, we support social development among children, women and person affected by leprosy, TB, disability and other neglected groups through vocational training, handicrafts, tailoring, lace and embroidery, which not only improves the treatment outcomes but also reduces their financial burden. Thus, sustainably improving their economic well being and their overall quality of life.
GLRA also focuses on improving the literacy, numeracy and critical thinking skills especially amongst adults to promote sustainable livelihoods. Therefore, our projects are being implemented as a part of a well-planned end-to-end solution for involving capacity building of community, facilitating adoption of improved package of practices, facilitating credit availability, building systems accessible to the poor for ensuring their inclusiveness in the development process.
